Welcome to CancerNovice – your big sister in the cancer game!
Our journey began in 2014 when my future Husband and I started Trixabelle13, a small Etsy shop selling custom laser-engraved jewelry and gifts. We continued to evolve, always researching and learning, looking for the idea that would connect with our goals and our passions. We spent some time with ecommerce selling on eBay and Poshmark but that didn’t give us the connection to our customers we were looking for. Then, in 2020 when the world was locked down for one thing, our family was struck with a different big, scary illness…CANCER. It was terrifying and we knew nothing, true novices. Half a year later, after months of treatment and soul-searching, we were well again. Healed, but different. Changed. We had learned a ton of new information and our vision of the future had been modified.
Living life to the fullest became even more important. And just when we thought we had our new life figured out, the universe intervened again and the care-giver became the cancer patient! Life was upside down again and the pink explosion seemed to be timed perfectly with Barbie-core! Health, wellness, self-care, comfort, enjoyment, pleasure – these became non-negotiable parts of our daily life as our family adapted to another “new normal”. At the same time, our desire to help people has grown 100-fold.
All of these changes and newly acquired info melded together and CancerNovice was born.
Although we may be a bit unconventional, we are committed to self-care, wellness and helping others feeling good during and after cancer treatment – mind, body and soul.
